Family Link
Roadmap
What we're building, what's coming next, and what's on the horizon. Updated as priorities shift.
Q2 2026
Grant compliance reporting
UX and logic improvements to grant-funded service tracking, plus reports Affiliates and National can use for grant compliance and renewal.
In design & plan Small lift
Community services tracking
Allows Affiliates to log services provided to the broader community — separate from program enrollments. Captures impact that currently goes unrecorded.
In design & plan Medium lift
Operational reporting dashboard
An executive-level view of program performance and data quality for Affiliate leadership — without needing to dig through case records.
In design & plan Medium lift
Post-enrollment form completion
Ensures required forms are completed after enrollment, closing a workflow gap that leads to incomplete records over time.
Ready to build Small lift
Online intake experience improvements
Reduces friction and drop-off in the online rapid intake form that families complete on their own.
In design & plan Small lift
Supervisor visibility into case manager activity
Gives supervisors a clear view into their team's caseloads and recent activity — without manual reports or digging through individual records.
In design & plan Small lift
Automated post-stabilization survey
Automatically triggers follow-up surveys at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months after a family exits stabilization. Captures outcome data that currently goes unrecorded.

Q3–Q4 2026
Case notes v2
Custom tags, note sharing across case managers, and smarter organization. Builds the daily case manager habit that drives long-term platform adoption.
In design & plan Medium lift
Reminders v2
Automated and custom reminders for case managers. Reduces reliance on manual follow-up and keeps cases from falling through the cracks.
In design & plan Medium lift
Non-Family Link Affiliate data integration
Brings Affiliates not yet on Family Link into the network's data ecosystem by ingesting their data through a standardized submission process. Supports network-wide reporting and strengthens the case for full adoption.

Q2–Q4 2026
A significant portion of our engineering time this year is dedicated to work that makes Family Link faster, more reliable, and more secure — even when you can't see it. Here's what we're investing in.
HIPAA compliance & audit logging
Establishing a robust logging system that records who views and interacts with protected health information. Affiliate executive staff will be able to audit access for their organization.
Building
Platform performance improvements
Moving complex workflows from the app layer to the database. Drops action latency from up to 5 minutes down to under 5 seconds and eliminates the risk of data loss if the app is closed mid-action.
Building
Schema standardization & technical debt
Cleaning up and standardizing the underlying data structure. Makes future development faster, reduces fragility, and lays the foundation for more advanced reporting and integrations.
Ready to build
Pipeline resiliency
Decoupling the data sync pipeline so a single failure doesn't take down the full reporting structure. Keeps your dashboards reliable even when something upstream breaks.
Ready to build
Self-service admin tools
Giving Affiliates and national staff tools to manage their own user accounts, contact records, and case transfers — without needing to submit a support request for routine changes.
In design & plan
Data archival & retrieval
An automated pipeline to archive data older than five years, keeping the platform lean and fast. Includes a retrieval tool so Affiliates can still access historical records when needed.
